An ongoing effort to expand the vocabulary of what is possible and available with plaster finishes, has lead us to investigate the traditions of Japanese and Moroccan finishes, cultures not as commonly associated with decorative plasters as Europe has become, as well as Italian finishes beyond those more commonly seen. This versatility is achieved through careful selection of materials and techniques. Our reliance on natural materials and our expertise in traditional techniques is what accounts for the sophisticated beauty of our finishes.
Plaster synthesizes of all the basic elements of design, allowing architects and designers the ability to introduce color, texture, pattern, etc., without compromising the clean atmosphere of modern spaces. The material integrity of these mineral finishes allows them to counterpoint other materials, and to highlight the form of the architecture, not to simply decorate the surface.
In traditional settings, mineral finishes are ideal for creating antiqued surfaces. Where faux-glazes attempt to replicate soft patinas, designers can employ authentic finishes, derived from historic recipes, which impart the elegance of time-worn charm with great authenticity.
Our complete range of finishes can be accentuated by incorporating natural soaps and waxes, fresco glazes, secco frescoes, custom designed murals and stencils, metallics, Sgcraffito, etc. to accommodate both modernist and traditional environments. All colors are custom-mixed, in house, ensuring accuracy and efficient turn around time.
