Our cost effective lime washes and slurries work easily over all types of substrates, for both interior and exterior surfaces. Like a porcelain bisque, the finishes create a dead-flat velvety nap in rich nuanced colors and modeling that synthetic paints simply cannot match. The application of soaps and waxes can bring the sheen up through a soft glow to a high polish. Washes and slips can be applied to walls and ceilings, in addition to trim and other architectural elements. With radiance and surface characteristics of pigmented mineral finishes, the subtlest of these finishes can be ecological and healthy alternatives to straight paint.
Throughout Europe, these finishes have been used on exterior surfaces for centuries. They are a cost-effective upgrade to conventional stucco on new construction, and an alternative to painting or repairing old and damaged stucco surfaces. On previously painted stucco, these finishes restore a true mineral surface finish. Moreover, lime slurries have a striking color luminosity and ability to transpire moisture, allowing the structure to breath. Because the finishes are very thin, there are no concerns with maintaining the architectural profile that can occur when applying an additional layers of stucco, e.g., the diminishing of trim details, our buried architectural details, etc.
