Japanese Plaster

Our Japanese plasters are mixed using lime and clays, blended with natural aggregates, including marble, sands, and fossil diatoms, along with natural oils, natural fibers, and plant extracts. Japanese plasters have much subtler surface characteristics than the Italian or Moroccan finishes. In place of the more dramatic, marble-like surfaces, the Japanese plasters exhibit softer modeling. The finishes can appear as unbroken fields of color with smooth, matte surfaces. They possess a rich uniformity and an understated voice, sometimes with the traditional aggregates of straw, sand and clay. Each of these finishes posses exquisite micro details easily unnoticed at first glance, resulting in finishes of unparalleled sophistication.
